Why am I in C final? How to qualify for WMOC finals?

The WMOC rules for final compositions often raise questions among competitors. They are fairly complex but also contain a lot of nice “features” for competitors. For example, the chances for a top runner to win a medal in the long distance are not completely ruined, even if they make a mispunch in the qualification.

Competition material and information for bus travelers

If you do not have time to pick up the competition material from Kupittaa on Monday, August 5th during the competition office’s opening hours (9-13) and you travel by competition bus to the competition on Tuesday, August 6th, you can get on the bus without a ticket. There is a list of names of those who have bought a bus ticket at the stops.

Preliminary results published - protest window closes at 15.05

The preliminary results for the sprint qualification race have been published on the results page (Sprint Qualification -> Online results -> Results) and on the physical result board at Paavo Nurmi stadium. The deadline for submitting protests is 15 minutes after the preliminary results have been published, so any remaining protests must be submitted by 15.05. Protests will not be accepted after this time.

Take your Emit eCard with you to the Event Centre at Kupittaa Sports Hall when picking up your competition material on Thursday or Friday. You can easily check that your eCard is fully functional and correctly registered for the competitions.

Livelox Premium available for free during WMOC

Livelox is a service that lets you record and compare your orienteering races with family, friends and fellow competitors. All maps and courses will be published on Livelox right after the race. As a participant, you can record your GPS route with a sports watch or mobile phone. After finishing, upload your route to livelox.com to see your own route choices and compare them with others.

Check and update your Emit eCard number!

We are still missing the Emit card number from 401 different runners. For some we zeroed out the number entered to Eventor, as it was clearly a mistyped or wrong model based on the number. Also, apparently some Finnish runners also expect the eCard number comes from the system as in national competitions.

The organisers are happy to announce that over 4200 competitors from 42 countries have registered within the registration period in the WMOC competitions and over 600 in the Fin5 public races. These numbers make the WMOC 2024 the largest WMOC event ever.

The organisers offer a shuttle bus transport to all forest events from the Center of Turku. We have now extended the ticket sales period until the 30th of June. So if you plan to use the organisers’ bus, please buy your ticket from Eventor or info@wmoc2024.fi during June. The cost of the bus ticket is 45 € for all forest events.
